Getting to Uruguay is easier than ever. With more direct flights out of Miami and the ease of getting to Estancia Elena from Buenos Aires, makes this Uruguay dove hunt uncomplicated and without added expense or air travel.

Some options for Uruguay travel - Fly into Montevideo, Uruguay (airport code - MVD) or fly into Buenos Aires, Argentina (airport code - EZE) and then take the fast boat ( a luxury hydrofoil) over to Colonia, Uruguay. The Estancia and dove hunting is about 50 minutes from the port of Colonia.

We must mention that Colonia is a great afternoon stop. Pedistrian friendly, European like culture and architechture, cobblestone streets, this is a great histortic town and a piece of Uruguay you will not want to miss.

Passports are the only requirement for entry into Argentina or Uruguay.
New for Argentina - if you enter Buenos Aires (EZE), you will pay a one-time visa fee of about $138. You will pay at the airport and they accept: cash or credit cards.

What to Pack for Uruguay Dove Hunting

Los Gauchos and the Uruguay dove hunts do not require any special hunting gear. Just be prepared for high volume shooting. So pack a favorite shooting glove, high quality shooting glasses and a favorite hat. The sun can shine and the birds will still fly!

Again, you can certainly bring your own shotgun into Uruguay. We recommend entering Uruguay, not going through Argentina if you decide to bring your favorite shotgun.

If you enter Argentina even for a few hours, you will have to pay a license fee and complete the form to enter the country with a shotgun.

Uruguay Hunting Schedules

Dove hunting is a high volume affair and the recommended hunt is a 3 day dove hunt. With flights arriving in the morning, you can expect to be in the field for a first day afternoon dove hunt.
